Rule 13
Minimum qualification required for promotion
(1) In order to be promoted to the post of military air service, the following qualifications should be fulfilled:-
(a) Completion of training as per schedule-2,
(b) Qualified in performance appraisal,
(c) In the case of pilot group officers who have the educational qualification as per rule 9, but have entered the service before the commencement of this rule, even if they have passed physics or other subjects with ten plus two or more, there will be no obstacle to promotion according to this rule. Similarly, before the commencement of this rule: In the case of officers of the Air: Maintenance Group who entered the service through open competition, the I.S.C. or have passed I.E. and obtained Aircraft Maintenance Basic License from a recognized educational institution _ Even if the officers do not have the required educational qualification, there will be no obstacle to promotion on the basis of the educational qualification at the time of enlistment to the rank of chief soldier.
(d) Completion of minimum service period as per rule 15,
(e) Passed Physical Fitness Test (BFT). However, if a soldier is injured in the course of performing his duty and is unable to participate in the examination as per this clause, if he is deemed fit for health classification as per Rule 37 of the Military Regulations, he will be eligible for promotion as per this regulation.
(f) having a body mass index (BMI) and health classification of two or less in MEDDICIOS-G.
(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in clause (a) of sub-rule (1), a soldier who has not undergone mid-career management training or higher command and management training for two years from the date of commencement of this rule may be a candidate for promotion.
